With its Italianate architecture and striking granite exterior, Amaranth Abbey at Union retains its classical beauty, typical of its 1925 construction. Step inside to see a mausoleum aglow with white marble, bronze gates and breathtaking stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes.
Many prominent Columbus families purchased individual crypts or entire rooms to keep their loved ones close together. Others selected niches for placement of cremated remains.
Eventually, the Abbey's three-acre site will be developed, providing outdoor burial spaces.
Plans have not been completed but will compliment the mausoleum's architecture without obscuring the stately building.
